Breath of Light
Description
This dynamic installation was created to illuminate the beautiful façade of Nordre Kapel in Vestre Kirkekård for CLF 2024. Its artistic intention is to evoke “taking a breath” and to draw attention to change. Visitors can watch the entire façade “breathe” with light: inhale warmth and then exhale into a blue hue of calm. Because of the scale of the building, the “breath” lasted longer than a human breath. Moreover the orange blue relationship was used to illustrate bigger cycles of nature and our relationship to the natural light.
The lamps were sponsored by Signify and programmed by Vanpee. By a turn of events, the installation could not remain on Nordre Kapel and was relocated to the Louis Poulsen building, next to the water and near the centre of Copenhagen. The new location as a great fit and the original lighting program could be used.

Personal
Being part of Copenhagen Light Festival and Ungt Lys was an important step for me and the beginning of a longer collaboration. After this experience I continued with an internship in the Association Copenhagen Light Festival in 2025 and took more responsibility as Project Leader in 2026, and coordinating 7 Ungt Lys projects.
