Under the Waves

Under the Waves is a site specific light installation that allows natural light to enter the Astral Stage space for the duration of Kune Festival.

2025 is the forth year in a row in which the installation is exhibited, becoming intrinsically connected with the Astral Stage identity. Spanning 26 meters, this colorful light aperture invites the guests to a shift of attention, maybe turned towards the inner world. The underwater life theme is both an aesthetic inspiration and a metaphor for slowing down into a feeling of being submerged in an alternate reality.



Here are some guiding words for experiencing the light installation:


‍“Like in a slow dive towards the bottom of the sea, it's dark but you can still notice the light on the surface. The sound waves move you gently. Stay submerged as long as you need, and get back up to enjoy the world, when you feel ready”.

This light installation started as a collaboration between Daniela Stoian and Matei Petrescu in 2021. It was further developed by Daniela, and assembled with the help of Kune volunteers.
